While Dad's Away, Mom Will Paint!

I always try to get a painting project in while John is out of town (which doesn't happen very often). It's actually just easier to do if he's not around to bug me for food or complain that the house smells like paint. This is what I did last time he was gone.
This past weekend John went golfing with his dad and brothers in Las Vegas. He took Austin with him, which left me with just the girls. It was such a snap to just have two kids!
My front door was in dire need of some color. So while Bailey napped, Cinderella was put on repeat and...
TAA-DAA! Isn't it great? Even John like it. Who doesn't love a good before and after?

I love it! Good job. I think it's hilarious that it is easier when John is gone. I was reading it to Brandon laughing that I would think it would be easier to have him around. But, he said, no way, that's one less kid around! Which, by the way, Brandon has totally become very dependent on me for a lot of things that I don't remember him needing in the past. So, apparently, whether you enable them or not, it eventually ends up happening - I think they like to be taken care of.

WOW! That looks so good! I have been wanting to paint my front door. You will have to tell me what kind of paint you used (I am thinking would you would have to use special paint. Maybe not...)

Love the color! Good job. If you ever need a career to fall back on I think you should become an interior decorator. :-)

I'm so glad I found this post, your statement about John is classic:

"It's actually just easier to do if he's not around to bug me for food or complain that the house smells like paint."
