I'm Making a Come Back

I know I've been MIA lately. Life has been busy. Here's what we've been up to...
John went out of town for a week, so I got to play lots with my kiddos and have some quiet time with the tv at night.
We went to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway
Then to play at the fountains at The Gateway. Austin was the only brave one.
He gave the girls and me a great show
We read lots and lots and lots of books. Austin is such a great big brother
Bailey is my sunshine. She is so bright and happy.
We painted outside, with not enough supervision
We played with toys too. Bailey loves her princess "pocket pockets" (polly pockets) that aren't actually polly pockets.
A great break was going on a walk/bike ride for FHE with my family up Provo Canyon. It was so beautiful.
It was a happy day when John came home. The kids missed him and I longed for him.
He got home just in time to see our baby boy go off to all day school. Hellooo first grade!
Good Bye tooth number 2
Days after John got home, I hopped a plane to North Carolina. My dear friend Michelle just had her 4th baby. 4 children!!! That deserves a little support...so here I am.
What a beautiful baby. Mckynlee Brooke Jolley. August 22. 7 lb. 8 oz. 20 1/2 in. Perfect Girl!

I've been busy, okay?

I'm victim to the blogging Catch 22...When there's something to blog about, there's no time to blog! Which means, life has been really fun lately. So hold your horses and prepare yourselves for lots of posts.

Mesa Verde

John's been wanting to take the kids to Mesa Verde. If you remember, I'm an accommodating wife, so we took a quick trip a few weeks ago.

I have to be honest. I don't think it's the best kids trip. I was under the impression that we get to "hike" to these Indian villages. Really, we get "tours" of them. So it would take over an hour to go 1/2 a mile. The ruins were very neat, but the children didn't really appreciate it and I felt like I was in church for two days, telling my kids to "be quiet" and "don't climb on that."

Some parts were really fun because we got to climb ladders

and crawl through holes

And at the end of the day we got to sit in the shade and relax

It was a fun trip. If you have older kids, it's great, but I wouldn't recommend it for little ones.

Pioneer Day Party

In between it all we hosted our annual Pioneer Day Party. It was a hit! So much so , that we didn't take any pictures. It was too fun to be thinking about cameras. If you missed it, plan for next year!!

Claybaugh Family Vacation 2009

  • A day at Disneyland

  • The rest of the days at the beach

  • Nights at the pool with dinner included

  • Great So. Cal. shopping

  • Sleeping children and late night games with the adults

All make for a perfect vacation. The only sad thing? We missed Tim, Shelbie and Hudson. We talked about them everyday and wished they could have made it!! For sure next year.

The Beach or as we like to call it HEAVEN

Juju and Papa...on their way!!

Teaching the children what life is really about

It was so great to have the newlyweds on their first Claybaugh Family Vacation.

They braved the waves and took a kayak trip

We sunbathers got a great show

Especially when both ores broke and we got to watch them paddle home by hand.

Boogie boarding was a hit!

You cannot tell Clay he is not a big boy! He was brave enough to do everything they did.

When on break from the water, the sand offered great entertainment (even for the dads)
This trip was so amazing that no one wanted to come home. Thanks a million times to my Dad for making it all happen.

Disneyland

We spent a day at Disneyland. John pulled out his expertise left over from our family trip in May and guided us to the shortest lines all day! Nothing longer than 30 minutes. It was awesome.
A big thanks to Grandma JuJu and Grandma Marilynn who watched the babies (Bailey and Clay) so we could really party!

Trying to pull the sword out of the stone

Even Uncle John couldn't do it

Uncle Brandon is ever endeared to Addie because he lets her ride on his shoulders

My favorite part of the day..watching Addie on Small World. I always get teary at the end when all the nations are together in white! Love it!!

Aunt Lexi trying to pet the horses tail (SHHH! Don't tell her it's a fake)

Space Mountain

Goofy

We spent a few hours in California Adventure

Soarin' Over California is a must do

Tower of Terror was my favorite thrill ride

In the afternoon John dumped water all over everyone to cool us off while we waited in line for Toy Story

Back at Disneyland we drove cars

And got all 3 boys picked for Jedi training. It was so awesome.

Splash Mountain. We were so happy that the teenagers dubbed us cool enough to spend the day with. They only broke off from us for a few hours.
Hands up!

Tarzan's Treehouse

Big Thunder Mountain

By the evening we all decided to sit and rest and watch the Celebrate Parade

Keeping the beat on a drum

John even got up enough energy to get up and danceSo did AdelineIt was so stinkin' cute!!

Such a great day!!
