I am stealing this idea to review my year from quite a few of you who have done it and I think it's darling. It was hard to narrow each month to a picture, but here we go...

Cosmetics Database

A few weeks ago, I got home and noticed that my bathroom was oddly bare. My counter, which is normally littered with lotions and sprays, was empty. Upon further inspection, my make up bag was unzipped and missing items, my bathtub was void of perfumed salts and softening creams, and my shower was without shampoo, conditioner, and scented soaps.

Something was up and I was not excited to find out...
John's resume will tell you that he dabbles, ever so slightly, in the world of beauty through some of the things he markets (as a matter of embarrassment, I have "acted" in a few online commercials for him...you know...because of my oh so beautiful face).
I trekked upstairs to John's office where I found my stolen items. Before I even entered the room, he turned in his chair and said "You've got to see this."

He pulled up Cosmetic Database for my viewing pleasure. Much to my displeasure, I spent the next 20 minutes seeing how various items in my beauty regimen were rated.

This database tests nearly all beauty products for health and safety. Each has a 1 to 10 rating with 1 being very safe and 10 being extremely hazardous.
It lists if ingredients in any given product is linked to cancer, developmental/reproductive toxicity, allergies/immunotoxicity, has violations, restrictions or warnings and other concerns.

For example:
Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea lotion is a 7
Loreal mascara is a 3
Biolage Color Care Conditioner is a 9

For the record, I have not stopped using any products because of it (Yes, I hit up the Bath and Body Works half yearly sale...TWICE!) But it's interesting and can help make some better choices.

Lettin' it all hang out

So I've been living in this world of frustration for the past couple weeks. It seems like there's never enough time in the day and with constant interruptions, I was never getting anything done. Earlier this week, my house was the messiest it's ever been and I just could not pull it together. So, by way of a pity party, I pulled out the video camera to document my world in a mess and ask you for advice...HOW DO YOU DO IT?

I had to do it in two parts because John interrupted part one.

I feel better now.

Christmas Eve Hula

I can't figure out how to post a youtube video to my blog. Who can help?

Anyway, I just had to get this out there.

Sorry to Tim, Jonny, Mom, Shelbie, and Cara

(If I have that many apologies, should I not post this? NAH!)

Check it out

Cougar Basketball

My dad bought the whole family tickets to a BYU basketball game last Saturday night. I had such a busy day on Saturday that I kept referring to it as "the stupid basketball game" anytime I rattled off my list of things to do for the day (Sorry Dad!!) But it I actually had a great time. I think fun was had by all. Silly girl faces
Austin loves to have his colored blue whenever he goes to anything BYU. I let the girls join in (they still have hints of blue in their platinum hair). We didn't go all the way, just the ponytail. Had to through this pic in there for B. That's what you get for not looking at my blog!
Bailey showin' a little love to the man who got her into the game What the? Jonny in a UVU sweatshirt? Whatev! OK, so one reason I had such a great time is because I walked Adeline all over The Marriot Center to find cheerleaders.
Thanks for a FANTASTIC night, Dad!

Name List

This morning, while doing Adeline's hair, she told me the names of her children..."My first boy's name is going to be Linus. My second boy will be Sharkboy. My first girl will be Lavagirl, second girl will be Amy, and my last girl will be Roosh." (sp?)
In junior high, I wanted boy/girl twins to be named Eric and Erica. I think I still have time!
